
The Florida BioEnergy Association, Inc. is the premiere association in the Southeast United States that is responsible for advocating the cultivation and responsible use of biomass for clean energy applications. The FBEA occupies the unique space between the private and public sector to increase the demand, distribution infrastructure, and capacity for locally grown, produced and distributed transportation fuels such as ethanol, biodiesel, and waste derived fuels. In addition, the FBEA serves as the lead advocate for biomass to energy for electrical production. The FBEA carries out its mission by providing forums for the public and private to exchange ideas, strategies, and ultimately serve as an educational resource for the development of a sustainable bioenergy sectors in Florida. These forums and workshops serve as pillars the FBEA's annual report that is distributed to the Florida Senate President, Speaker of the House, Commissioner of the Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, and the Executive Office of the Governor.
FBEA's members include, but are not limited to, honorary members of the Florida Senate, the Florida House of Representatives, and corporate members comprised of farmers, engineers, attorneys, consultants, professors from major universities, biofuel developers/facilities, biomass to energy developers/facilities, and citizens for clean energy from biomass.
The FBEA works well with and has substantial relationships with all regulatory agencies effecting clean energy policies, including but not limited to, the Florida Public Service Commission, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Workforce Florida, Enterprise Florida, local economic development authorities, the Florida Energy Systems Consortium, the Florida Legislature, the Florida Energy & Climate Commission, the Attorney General of Florida, and the Executive Office of the Governor.
